Covered Call Calculator
See what a covered call pays, where it breaks even, and what you give up if the stock runs past the strike.
How it works
Selling a call against 100 shares pays you the premium now. In exchange, you agree to sell the shares at the strike if the stock is above it at expiration.
If unchanged counts the premium and any dividend against today's price. If called away adds the gain from today's price up to the strike. Annualized figures scale the return to a full year for comparison only; they assume you could repeat the same trade, which you often cannot.
Go deeper
Which strike, which expiration, and what to do when the stock runs or falls? Called Away covers the whole routine, and Harvested runs it conservatively for retirement income.
